| Abstract: | Study on the degree of photoperiod sensitivity of rice promising lines from Central Region of Thailand had been conducted. 43 varieties/lines were grown at the first day of April, May and August. Ten hours of daylength, 7.00 am.-17.00 pm., was treated for flowering date data. IR58, RD7, Nam Sa Gui 19, Leuang Pratew 123, Khao Tah, Haeng 17, Khao Dawk Mali 105, Sew Mae Jan, Hahng Yi 71, Niaw Sanpahtawng and Pin Gaew 56 were used as standard varieties for photoperiod responsiveness classification. According to their responses to daylengths, 3 groups were classified. The varieties IR58, RD7 and 23 varieties/lines were found to be essentially insensitive to photoperiod. The other 11 varieties/lines and Nam Sa Gui 19 were classified as weakly sensitive to photoperiod. And finally, 9 varieties/lines and standard varieties namely Khao Dawk Mali 105, Niaw Sanpahtawng, Leuang Pratew 123, Sew Mae Jan, Hahng Yi 71, Pin Gaew 56 and Khao Tah Haeng 17, were strongly sensitive to photoperiod. 1 variety was not germinated. These informations will be useful to recommend appropriate varieties for their responsiveness to day lengths for farmers. |
