| Abstract: | To maximize nitrogen fertilizer uses efficiency and to reduce production cost, Leaf Color Chart (LCC) had been applied. Two methods of nitrogen management with LCC had been applied to compare with farmer practice in Suphanburi Province. Rice variety, SPR 1, had been grown by pregerminated seed broadcasting in the experiment during 2002-2003. Nitrogen fertilizer with the rates of 3 and 6 Kg/rai were applied when the LCC score was LT=3.0. The results showed that, those two LCC applications had a tendency to have higher yield than that of farmer practice. Application of LCC could reduce 28-48 percent of total amount of nitrogen fertilizer use by farmer practice. Moreover, LCC application bring about higher net income due to higher nitrogen use efficiency. |
