Abstract

Research on yield and seed production of hybrid rice variety, PTT06001H, was conducted at Rice Research Center in the area of central, east, upper north and lower north of Thailand, for 3 seasons (ws 2006-ws 2007). PTT06001H is a high amylase (27.87 percent) non-glutinous rice that is sensitive to photoperiod with 117 cm. high, 116 days maturity, resistant to rice blast disease but moderately susceptible to brown planthopper. The color of paddy is straw with brown apiculi, 10-44 mm. long, 2.48 mm. wide and 1.96 mm. thick. The shape of brown rice is slender with 7.66 mm. long, 2.08 mm. wide and 1.77 mm thick. At pathumthani, Suphanburi and Chainat Rice Research Center, in wet season 2006, in yielded 962 kg/rai at 14 percent moisture content, which was 22 percent and 20 percent higher than that of PTT1 and SPR1, respectively. It yielded 1,006 kg/rai, which was 51 percent and 23 percent higher than that of PTT1 and SPR1, respectively. Its average yield in 9 Rice Research Center was 986 kg/rai. For F1 seed production, the row ratio of A and R lines which gave highest yield (393 kg/rai) and 45 percent seed set, is 6:2.
