| Abstract: | Brown rice and half-polished rice varieties KDML105, Sang Yod Phatthalung and Chiang Phatthalung in wet season 2006/2007 were stored for maintaining their physicochemical properties by using medicinal plant powders such as ginger, galangal, chilli, kaffir lime leaves and charcoal. 2*3 cm. cloth bag of each medicinal plant powder were put in plastic bag containing 500 gm. of rice sample including rice samples stored in refrigerator and room temperature (control). It was found that storage life of all treated samples was 6 months, no insects were found, no bad odor smell and chemical analysis indicated that all treated samples had less fatty acid than control. |
