Abstract

Four accessions of Khai Mod Rin rice variety were collected in 1995 at Nakhonsithammarat Province. A promising line, NSRC95001-1-3 from Ronpiboon district was selected as a uniform good plant type and high productive of the third row and tested for yielding performance at Nakhonsithammarat Rice Research Center for 2 years during 1997/1998-1998/1999 wet season. Yield comparison were conducted at Nakhonsithammarat Rice Research Center, Pattalung Rice Research Center, Pattani Rice Research Center and Krabi Rice Research Center and farmers, field of Nakhonsithammarat, Pattani Province for 4 years during 1999/2000-2002/2003 wet season. Physical and chemical properties of grain, resistance to blast disease and Nitrogen fertilizer response were studied as well. The result showed that grain yield at Nakhonsithammarat Rice Research Center was 429 kilograms per rai, and 476 kilograms per rai at farmers, fields. Physical of grain properties were slender, white translucent and 7.62 millimeter long. Its amylose content is intermediate (23.74 percent) with soft cooked rice. The rice plants were 176 centimeter high with stiff straw. The flowering date was about 12 January.
