| Abstract: | Possibility study on organic rice production in irrigated paddy fields was carried out in Pathumthani and Nakhon Nayok Province during the year 2009 - 2010. Photoperiod-insensitive varieties RD31 Suphanburi1 (SPR1) Pitsanulok2(PSL2) Chainat1(CNT1) and Pathumthani1(PTT1) were used in the study. In wet season 2009, the results obtained from the study at the agricultural demonstration plot of Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy showed that the average yields of transplanted rice variety RD31 grown in organic and chemical plots were 604.04 and 675.17 kgs/rai, respectively. The average yields of parachute rice variety Pitsanulok2 grown in organic and chemical plots were 450.46 and 506.94 kgs/rai, respectively. In wet season 2010, the results obtained from the study at Pathumthani Rice Research Center showed that the average yields of transplanted rice varieties SPR1 PSL2 CNT1 and PTT1 grown in organic plots were 711.16 341.68 489.78 and 549.13 kgs/rai, respectively whereas the average yields of transplanted rice varieties SPR1 PSL2 CNT1 and PTT1 grown in chemical plots were 791.84 687.65 715.16 and 844.27 kgs/rai, respectively. |
