| Abstract: | Sixteenth brown planthopper populations from Prachin Buri and Sa Kaeo provinces had been collected to study on brown planthopper genetic resistance in native rice varieties. Brown planthopper mass rearing was conducted to F3-F4 generations. The differential set of brown plant hopper standard resistant rice varieties carrying different resistant genes were Mudgo (Bph1), ADS7 (bph2), Rathu Heenati (Bph3), Babawee (bph4), ARC10550 (bph5), Sawanalata (Bph6), T12 (bph7), Chinsaba (bph8), Pokkali (Bph9) and IR65482-4-136-2 (Bph10). Seeding box screening technique and Standard Evaluation System for Rice (SES) were used to detect the reaction. The differences of 16 brown planthopper virulence populations were analyzed by cluster analysis to group the similarity matrices. Sixteenth brown planthopper populations could be grouped in to 4 different virulence brown planthopper groups. Each representative of 4 different virulence brown planthopper groups had been selected to test with 20 native rice varieties. Results indicated that brown planthopper genetic resistant gene could not be found in 20 native rice varieties. |
