Abstract: Chainat Province, rice growing areas could be divided by the potential suitability of the soil at 3 levels were very reasonable (soil group 3, 4, 7 and 15) suitable medium (Soil group 6, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 25) and less appropriate. (Soil group 31b, 35b and 55b). Survey and data collection of cultivated rice farmers. Chainat Province Year 2550-2552 included 920 cases showed that rice grown in Chai Nat province has at least nine varieties are consisting PTT 1, CNT 1, PSL 2 ,SPR 1, SPR 3, SPR 60, CNT 80(RD29), PTT 80(RD31) and KDML105 scattered throughout the region. Divided into two groups: rice photoperiod sensitivity (97.93%) were PTT 1, CNT 1, PSL 2, SPR 1, SPR 3, SPR 60, CNT 80(RD29) and PTT80 (RD31). Average yield 774 kg/rai. And rice photoperiod sensitivity (2.07%) i.e. KDML 105, the average yield 474 kg/rai. The sampling and analysis of soil chemical properties of 141 soil samples were soil fertility in moderate to high, pH range acidic to alkaline (4.59-9.22), organic matter content averaging about 2.1%, Available Phosphorus 20.04 ppm. And Available Potassium 71.29 ppm. Testing technology to increase rice yield by fertilization in Chainat Province, consisted 3 treatments were the fertilization by the instructions of the government, the Fertilization by analyzing the soil and the fertilization by farmer's technique, experiment with 9 plots. Use rice varieties SPR 1 or PTT 1 or CNT 1 or PTT 80 (RD31). By the way, scattering, seed rate 20 kg /rai. The result, the Fertilization by advice of the government, highest average rice yield is 855 kg/rai. The average cost of fertilizer 860 baht/rai. Followed Fertilization by analyzing the soil can yield an average 807 kg/rai. The average cost of fertilizer 764 baht/rai and Fertilization by framer’s process at the average rice yield is 742 kg/rai. The average cost of fertilizer 837 baht/rai. Using the yield obtained from testing each plots, to calculate the rice production in different potential areas, By comparing with fertilizing by farmer's technique. Found that the fertilization by the instructions of the government can increase the level and the value of rice production in Chai Nat province to 15 %. However, when comparing the cost of fertilizers found that the use of fertilizer under the soil analysis, cost of fertilize is cheap 0.94 bath/kg. Followed by the advice of the government of 1.01 baht / kg and by farmer's technique is the most expensive cost is 1.30 baht/kg. This suggests that if the use of appropriate technology in rice production not only can increase the value of production but also can help in reducing costs as well.
