Abstract

Chiang Mai Rice Research Center have been proceeding the Development of Rice project at Omkoi district according to the Royal initiation to help agriculturists increased quantity of enough for their consumption since B.E.2542. There are 4 figures of projects. CMRRC handles development of rice varieties/lines whichever it can survive in condition of cultivated areas and accepted by agriculturist at OmKoi district 9 varieties/lines constitute accepted are classified as wet season rice are six varieties/lines 1.Khao Luang Sanpatong 2.Bue Maeo Zi Gay (SPTC99093) 3.Ka Saw(SMGC02001), 4.RD39 5.Bue Maeo Pa Do (SPTC01052) and 6.Bue Pa Du(SPTC04072). and after wet season rice is 1 varieties /lines viz Kham Neao(SPTC97001) The others upland rice is 2 varieties/lines viz Chao Ho and Chao Lee Saw Sanpatong. In addition, there are several operation of CMRRC such as selecting of native rice species, development of production technology and manufacturing seed for agriculturists community. The findings of rice produce, it reveals to rice quantity in cultivated areas increased. Presently, environmental are problem changed that effected to cultival areas such as outbreak of diseases from insects and drought. Therefore the Development of rice project according to the Royal initiation must be proceed successively for defending sustainable of rice quantity henceforth.
